DESCRIPTION


Currently we are looking for a seasoned Delivery Manager with a strong technical background in Java to become a key leader of EPAM team and insure it delivers outstanding results on day-to-day basis with the required scale and complexity to meet the customer’s expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all technical aspects of the project delivery;
  • Lead the creation of proposals, scoping; documentation, project planning and reporting;
  • Perform project staffing processes in close cooperation with TA and HR teams;
  • Lead an Agile team (8-10 FTE) consisting of developers, automation QAs, DevOps engineers;
  • Discuss the project scope with stakeholders and BAs, help to translate business requirements into workable technical requirements and controls implementation design;
  • Work closely with the customers and EPAM solutions architects on all significant architectural decisions and non-functional requirements;
  • Establish and control proper engineering practices, including TDD, code quality reviews, CI/CD processes;
  • Guide work of DevOps engineers assigned on the project to achieve best possible integration between SDLC tools and automation of routine processes;
  • Lead continuous improvement process; increase team efficiency and effectiveness over time;
  • Define project release strategy;
  • Resolve escalations;
  • Monitor employees’ performance and evaluate customer feedback;
  • Advocate EPAM culture in day-to-day working practices.

Requirements

  • General skills:
    • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer sciences or related fields;
    • 7+ years of experience in software design, development, and testing;
    • 3+ years of experience in project management, solution architecture and technical team leadership roles;
    • Strong interpersonal and people management skills;
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
    • Ability to work independently;
    • Solution mindset – able to understand and drive end-to-end solution for the client;
    • Experience in financial, banking, capital markets business domains;
    • Dedication to keeping abreast of emerging technology trends;
    • Agile and product oriented mindset, ready to work in a start-up environment.
  • Management skills:
    • Experience in project initiation and team ramp up;
    • Understanding of project estimation techniques;
    • Experience in prototyping, PoC development, MVP;
    • Setup and tailoring agile SDLC process (typically scrum or XP) to the customer’s specific environment;
    • Experience managing agile teams, distributed across multiple locations;
    • Understanding of scaled agile methodologies (SAFe, LeSS, Nexus, etc.);
    • Risk management and control;
    • Change management;
    • Configuration and release management;
    • People management and motivation.
  • Technology skills:
    • Hands-on in coding. Strong Java development skills, must have experience with Java 8 or 9;
    • TDD practitioner;
    • Proven experience setting CI/CD processes on the projects;
    • Good understanding of enterprise architecture patterns, past experience in design and implementation of external services integrations (using REST, SOAP and/or ESB);
    • Familiarity with Spring family frameworks;
    • Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms;
    • Familiarity with Microservices architecture approach;
    • Understanding of relational and non-relational databases.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Python, Scala, Go programming languages.
