  • Learn the technical details of the product and what problems it solves for our clients;
  • Partner with account and sales executives to plan, prepare and execute the entire complex and often lengthy product sales cycle from end-to-end;
  • Set and achieve sales goals and quotas on a monthly and quarterly basis;
  • Support sales executives with solution selling into their prospects and existing accounts base;
  • Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education either to sales executives or clients;
  • Make technical presentations and demonstrate how a product will meet client needs;
  • Interpret and match customer pain/requirements to proposed product based solutions;
  • Persuade clients that the product will best satisfy their needs;
  • Create and deliver powerful presentations and demos that clearly communicate the uniqueness of the product’s value proposition;
  • Manage all aspects of RFP / RFI responses;
  • Communicate client needs to the R&D teams for future product enhancements;
  • Collect and document competitive intelligence and customer needs;
  • Support marketing by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events;
  • Liaison with members of the sales team and other Product technical experts.


  • 10+ years of Sales Engineer experience at a Russell 2000 Technology Concern or Established Startup;
  • Demonstrated success at understating customer needs and selling-in to them;
  • Knowledge of the relevant markets and industries;
  • A solidly technical background;
  • The ability to build relationships and rapport with clients quickly;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Marketing required (MBA preferred);
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills, especially with regard to customer interactions;
  • Flexibility to travel as needed (up to 75%);
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, especially when it comes to working with sales teams;
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
