Currently we are looking for a Business Analyst for our Atyrau office to make the team even stronger.

The project makes use of cutting edge technologies based on international standards. An ideal candidate is expected to work onsite for one of the key EPAM’s customer from oil&gas industry (city of Atyrau, Kazakhstan).

Working schedule - the following options are available for the position:
1) Full onsite in Atyrau (Kazakhstan);
2) 3 weeks onsite, 1 week offsite (or);
3) 4 weeks onsite, 1 week offsite (or);
4) 6 weeks onsite, 2 weeks offsite;
Full workload for at least 1 year.

  • Take part in application business analysis and IT technical solution consulting and application deployment planning and execution for both vendor and internally developed applications;
  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders involved with system enhancements;
  • Research and analyze questions and issues to ensure a comprehensive design in development is made utilizing the best technology;
  • Review and understand business details of application enhancement requests;
  • Document specifications to the appropriate detail level using the appropriate documentation;
  • Collaborate with technical staff when developing a new system enhancement;
  • Assist project managers with developing project task estimates;
  • Participate in acceptance testing of enhancements for maintenance enhancements and new system releases. Make sure that best practice testing processes are utilized;
  • May also be asked to prepare, script, and execute test cases;
  • Work with the Project Manager and Technical Team to resolve issues identified during testing;
  • Effectively document items for others to be used in decision-making, coding and procedures. Ensure appropriate documentation is completed and stored in the repository database;
  • Work with Project Manager to provide the necessary documentation so appropriate training can be delivered and appropriate procedure guides updated;
  • Communicate status of project tasks to Project Manager. Be particularly diligent in reporting task changes that impact project schedules;
  • Communicate with Technical Analyst with regards to specification changes;
  • Communicate to business partners final specifications;
  • Bridge between the business partner and the technical team by acting as a technical liaison and stakeholder advocate;
  • Collaborate with customers to ensure alternatives have been carefully considered and that the chosen solution meets business objectives;
  • Conduct Requirements Gathering Sessions with the business in Phase 2 - eliciting, facilitating, documenting, and finalizing business requirements (e.g. process modeling, data, business rules, functions, etc.);
  • Develop test cases and plans, run system testing, conduct testing validation;
  • Identify alternatives in context of business opportunity and business processes;
  • Ensure business’ requirements are met;
  • Apply a foundation of technical knowledge to a variety of business needs using industry standards and information protection policies;
  • Apply Operational Excellence principles, practices, and processes;
  • Contribute to enterprise architecture development from a business needs point of view;
  • Prepare Requirements Documents, Testing Plans and other documents requested from the Project Manager;
  • Familiar with the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or other relevant fields;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Highly motivated and self-starter;
  • Theoretical BA knowledge;
  • Experience in a Business Analyst role is an advantage;
  • Experience working with Oil&Gas companies is an advantage.
