DESCRIPTION


Currently we are looking for a Team Leader/MS SQL Engineer for our Prague office to make the team even stronger.

Our client is an investment bank which provides large corporate, government and institutional clients with a full spectrum of solutions to their strategic advisory, financing and risk management needs.

The main function of the project is to consolidate, streamline and simplify the generation, analysis and visualization of Risk within the investment bank onto strategic, cross-asset platforms. The migration from a legacy, siloed, asset class specific environment to a shared, cross-asset, platform is a complex one and we’re running that work as a programme.

The candidate will join the project delivering regulatory driven improvements in credit risk methodology with significant impact on the bank’s RWA. As part of the programme, the project is delivering new credit risk valuation and simulation capability as well as infrastructure components. The scope includes large spectrum of products across the asset classes (Fixed Income, FX, and Equities) with varying degree of complexity presenting a highly interesting technology challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement changes to Risk Engine valuation results data store in SQL Server DB;
  • Design and implement ETL processes, using SSIS services;
  • Design, review and implement a scalable data model for CR framework;
  • Be responsible for performance tuning and re-factoring of the existing DB processing routines;
  • Provide assistance in transformation business requirements into technical;
  • Take participation in developing SQL objects, like stored procedures, functions, views, etc;
  • Take participation in developing SSIS packages;
  • Write functional tests;
  • Provide last line support for production incident;
  • Provide assistance for business users, in their custom requests:
    • Manage the team;
    • Provide innovations;
    • Be the central contact of points for customers;
    • Couch new joiners;
    • Act as a technical mentor and adviser.

Requirements

  • Be familiar with MS SQL database technology stack:
    • Good theoretical knowledge in relational theory;
    • Normal Forms;
    • ACID.
  • Performance optimization skills:
    • Isolation levels;
    • Indexes;
    • Locks;
    • Statistics.
  • Strong knowledge of Partitioning;
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Programming:
    • Stored procedures;
    • Functions;
    • Views;
    • CTE;
    • Analytical (window) functions.
  • Strong knowledge of SSDT;
  • Strong knowledge of writing tests for SSDT solution, and common CI principles;
  • Strong knowledge of Git\Bitbucket\Stash;
  • Strong knowledge of TeamCity (or Jenkins) build server;
  • Jira knowledge;
  • Intermediate SSIS knowledge:
    • Strong knowledge of SSIS package;
    • Strong knowledge of SSIS execution flow.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and SDLC phases;
  • Keen, enthusiastic and willing to learn;
  • Strong team player with ability to work independently and proactively;
  • Strive to own end-to-end solutions to problems;
  • Ability to build productive working relationships with other IT groups, business users and support teams in multiple geographic locations.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of AutoSys (Enterprise scheduler system);
  • Knowledge of QlikView;
  • Knowledge of SAP BO.
