DESCRIPTION


Currently we are looking for a Senior Excel/VBA/VB6 Developer for our Guadalajara office to make the team even stronger.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high quality Microsoft VB.NET or VB6 applications;
  • Lead advanced debugging efforts when production and development issues arise;
  • Ensure that products deliver business value, are completed on time, have high quality, and minimize technical debt;
  • Ensure that deliverables are self-certified before going to QA and customers;
  • Work independently and be able to complete assignments with minimal assistance from others;
  • Follow all team operating agreements including code coverage, peer code review, and test driven design;
  • Participate in all agile ceremonies including stand-ups, grooming, demos and retrospectives;
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and offer suggestions for applicability within our products or processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (or a related discipline);
  • 5-10+ years of experience in professional software development;
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in developing VB.NET or VB6 technology solutions;
  • Exceptional Excel experience (Macros);
  • SQL Server development skills (queries, procs, triggers, view, indices, BCP);
  • Understanding of and experience in an Agile SDLC (such as Scrum, XP, Lean, Kanban, Scrumban).

Nice to have

  • ASP.Net Web Forms and MVC knowledge;
  • Experience in WCF, Web API and ASMX Web Services (SOAP, REST, JSON);
  • Knowledge of ORM Frameworks (such as NHibernate or Entity Framework);
  • Understanding of and experience in developing a Continuous Integration Environment;
  • Knowledge of design patterns;
  • Experience in XAML/WPF;
  • Ability to present a positive and effective professional image in all settings;
  • Acceptance of direction given by management;
  • Effective time management and organizational skills;
  • Desire to be part of a team and contribute to a team environment;
